Concept
This project is exploring different kind of materials and was ment to be interactive.
According to my work which is based on the socio-personal experiences and its cause, I thought this project to evoke the sensational and emotion aspect of exploitation behind basic needs of large population.
The idea behind the act of eating hand was to make realize the interactive public about exploitation on an individual or a mass by multinationals or individuals.
It also takes account of the labour which is exploited by cheap labor and devoid of basic need but serving there labor to companies and Govt. to survive.

 

Material

I thought to create an object which would have both qualities, a) The Edible Quality b) The violent feeling by edible materials.
I choose the materials bread for two main reason, first because of edible quality and most interesting the softness and color and texture of human body was quite similar. It was also fulfilling my purpose of doing this project. I choose to make a human body part; hand.
First I made the POP mold of a hand. After that I went to a bread Factory in local area where I got all the materials, like flour, Sugar, Salt, yeast, Sodium, water.

 

Process 

I found a bakery factory in local and agreed them to provide the technical help like how much materials I should use, how to preserve it longer and how to enhance the smell of the bread and actual colour.
After mixing all this materials in the guidance of bakery café we got the ingredients to mold it.
Because the mold was not very helpful because of the elasticity of material so we had to work manually to get the shape of hand. So we finished dozens of edible hand with manual and few suggestion of mold.
After creating a large quantity of edible hands, we baked it in the traditional oven.

 

Interaction and Documentation
After completing all the process, I invited public including friends,unknown person to interact and serve thies piece to eat. I also served to the animals (dogs) and insects(ants),and I documented and recorded all the reaction and the interacton with them (Audio and Video) . Few enjoyed the materials as bread over the shape of a human part but few of them rejected due to the feeling evoked by the shape of human body part.
The interactive persons were free to give any kind of reaction they feel about the shape and material.
